There comes a time in a Man Man’s life when he feels a great desire to wander the country and bang objects of various shapes and materials in people’s faces. It is said that this mysterious rite originated in the days when Homo Homo Sapiens would chew their way underground to hibernate through winter and emerge in spring along with the hares and jackalopes; they call these strange behaviors Rabbit Habits.
Wiser than the astrologists and anthropologists who have woven these masculine myths, music critics understand Man Man to be a musical band and Rabbit Habits to be the latest record of their work. The album, which comes out April 8th, will be the band’s first for Anti-Records, also the den of Tom Waits and Nick Cave. By now everyone’s sick of the usual musical comparisons, but the move to Anti- does conjures images of Honus Honus and crew clawing for a handhold on those dissonant climbs of the musical pantheon.
Following the excavation of Rabbit Habits, the Men Men have promised a spring tour. So, it’s time to massage your eardrums and scrape the winter salts off your eyes. And behold!
