Man Involved in T.I. Shooting Gets 17 Years

The man who helped kill T.I.’s assistant and friend Philant Johnson has received a jail sentence of 17 years. Padron Thomas, 41, testified against his brother Hosea Thomas in December when Hosea was tried for slaying Johnson. Hosea received a sentence of 66 years. Padron has now been convicted of drug conspiracy and gun charges in addition to a lesser sentence for his role in the killing. The judge came down hard because of his rap sheet, which includes robbery and rape.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the altercation happened when the Thomas brothers could not get into a nightclub's VIP section reserved for T.I. and his entourage, a member of whom allegedly broke a bottle over one of the brother’s heads. [SoHH.com]
