Magnetic Fields reveal new album art

Magnetic Fields have revealed the artwork for their seventh full-length album, titled Distortion. As usual for one of the most ironic bands in indie rock, the seemingly simple cover contains a little bit of symbolism. Distortion will be released on January 18, 2008, on Nonesuch Records.
Though the art on any Magnetic Fields is pretty minimalist, there'''s always a little bit of symbolism to be found. On Distortion, the shocking pink of the background juxtaposed with the ''"male''" character obviously creates the distortion. The inverted text on the left side of the album, which is kind of a trademark for the band, is also present. An interesting cover to be sure, but there'''s never anything on the cover of a Magnetic Fields album that'''s going to approach the content on the inside. [Stereogum]

Yes, it's called the band's LOGO. Thank you.
