It must be difficult for Madonna to figure out how to make a spectacular return to the live arena when pesky young whippersnappers like Lady Gaga are upping the ante by a considerable margin. But Madge, as the Brits call her, is planning a live jaunt regardless, and is apparently finalizing details for shows next year.
"It's going to be her biggest, most unexpected tour to date,” an unnamed source said to British tabloid the Daily Mirror. “She is going back to her New York City roots, with a street/ hip-hop feel, and wants to make it a physical, danceheavy set of gigs. Madonna is in peak condition so the grueling aspect of life on the road isn't a problem.”
This is only tabloid gossip at present and perhaps shouldn’t be taken too seriously, but the idea of Madonna going hip-hop is certainly one of the most cringe-worthy ideas we’ve heard at Prefix HQ this year. Let’s face it, no one needs a hip-hop version of “Borderline” or “Like a Virgin” in their lives.
