The overall quality of his output aside, Madlib is pretty much declaring himself the king of 2010. Earlier this year he embarked on the still-continuing Madlib Medicine Show series, which offers new music or a mixtape of Madlib's dusty-fingered favorites every month. He also dropped two brand new, very good jazz albums under the names of Young Jazz Rebels and The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble. And now, for his seventh entry in the Medicine Show, the blunted producer has put together yet another jazz-fusion record called High Jazz. The 15-track project features a Madlib, Karriem Riggins & James Poyser collaboration along with the debut of groups Generation Match, The Big Black Foot Band, and RMC. Does this dude ever sleep?
You can stream "Funky Butt" from High Jazz, which is due out July 27, below.
