Hats off to Pittsburgh, Pa. rapper Mac Miller, whose Nov. 8 debut album, Blue Slide Park, is slated to come out at No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart. The LP is predicted to move upwards of 180,000 copies by Sunday, Nov. 13. Park was released on Rostrum Records and distributed by INgrooves via Fontana Distribution, which is an independent part of Universal Music Group.
Assuming the album does perform as expected, it will be a particularly special moment for Miller because it will mark the second ever No. 1 debut by an independently-distributed release. The first was Tha Dogg Pound's Dogg Food, which sold 278,000 and dropped in 1995. First he reached his self-imposed goal of 1 million Twitter followers, and now he's probably going to top the charts.
