While the UFC's Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida and Anderson "The Spider" Silva won't be fighting UFC light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones any time soon, both will be in a film together called 'Tapped.'
The film will begin shooting September 4 and will wrap October 12 in London, Ontario, Canada. No further information has been given as to what their roles may be in the film. There has been no release of what the plot may be as well. Although if there were to be any guesses, there will be a handful of martial arts action going on.
Both now join a long list of MMA fighters who are starting to make a career in film during the twilight of their careers. Some of the most notable fighters to make a good living in acting have been: former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Randy Couture with his roles in 'The Expendables' and 'The Expendables 2', Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson portraying B.A. Baracus in the reboot of 'The A-Team', former women's Strikeforce champion Gina Carano starred in David Lynch's 'Haywire' and Sansho expert Cung Le performed in numerous films such as the kung fu film 'Bodyguards And Assasins' where he fought against Donnie Yen and in sleeper science fiction hit 'Pandorum.'
We will reveal more information about 'Tapped" as it comes. [The MMA Blog]
