Lupe gets litigious

Lupe Fiasco has sent Vibe Magazine a Cease & Desist order and is considering suing for defamation of character. The litigation concerns "Fiascogate," a fairly silly combination of honest mistakes and unflinching cockiness surrounding Fiasco and A Tribe Called Quest. Lupe asserts that Vibe took comments he made about Tribe long before his flubbed VH1 tribute performance and printed them out of context, thereby furthering anti-Lupe sentiments currently festering on the internet. The short on story on Fiascogate: Lupe has never heard Midnight Mauraders, and isn't afraid to talk about it. Usually the borrowing of a record alleviates this kind situation.

Good to hear his side. He really should listen to Midnight Marauders from start to finish though.

Yeah, that's a pretty glaring omission. Akin to a rock band saying they'd never listened to Exile on Main Street. What is dude's real name, anyway? I always find it off-putting that he goes by Lupe. To most, that's a Hispanic girl's name, short for Guadalupe.
