Lupe Fiasco's Former Producer Calls Him Out On Twitter, Questions Petition

Last week, it was announced that Lupe Fiasco's fans had taken it upon themselves to get Atlantic to release Lazers, his long-delayed third album that is allegedly being held up by the label until Lupe records a "hit." Though I didn't write it then, the cynic in me questioned whether or not the petition was nifty marketing on Lupe's part, being that it seems like Atlantic has no interest in putting the album out, and at least the petition keeps Lupe in the news. 

The same day the petition was announced, Lupe's former producer, Prolyfic, questioned the validity of the petition and then went off on like 50 Tweets about how Lupe has blown his career, and the reason there's no hits on Lazers is because Lupe doesn't actually want the album to come out. In a state where everyone is rising to success by giving away free music (Drake, Wayne, Gucci Etc.) @LupeFiasco chooses to hoard his music Which results in what? People forgetting about you! which is why @LupeFiasco did not make ANY lists of ANYTHING! When he should be top 3 - Ain’t no release date on #WeWantLazers cuz ain’t NO FUCKING HITS on it! cuz @LupeFiasco REFUSES to makes hits.. not that he cant.. he wont!

 

There is NO reason why u shouldn’t be mentioned in the same conversations as Drake or wayne etc… Ppl say “who?” when u mention @LupeFiasco & why do they do that? cuz @LupeFiasco is to damn scared to fail! he lacks the HEART to take a risk! So he’s had a careeer of playin it safe So @LupeFiasco figure he’ll appease this crowd.. u know that crowd over there.. they’ll ALWAYS love him, and he won’t have to feel pressured

That last one's a good point, since Lupe has some hardcore Stans out there (cue them....now). But the reality is that we won't really know what's going on behind the scenes at Atlantic, probably ever. [The Hood Nerd]
