Lupe Fiasco and Chief Keef have been two of rap’s most-discussed names recently, but not necessarily for their musical contributions. Just last week, Keef tweeted that he would “smack” Lupe if he saw him in person–something the 17-year-old rapper later denied was him, claiming his Twitter account was hacked–which prompted a compassionate response from his older Chicago counterpart.
Both parties have been quiet since then, until footage surfaced online this morning from a performance at Toronto’s York Fest on Monday (Sept. 10), where Lupe made peace with Chief Keef.
“I love my brother and I want to see him succeed and do his thing, and that goes for everybody, everywhere, anywhere in the world… so shout out the big homie Chief Keef,” he said on stage, much to the delight of the crowd.
Let’s wait and see if Chief Keef will return the kind words, or if civilized behavior is something he “don’t like.”
