Luke Steele Lands On Blueprint 3, MTV Shocked to Find Musician Not On Its Radar

This is a pretty big way to rebound from having your album named one of the ugliest covers of the year, but it must sting a little when MTV has to sleuth out your identity. Luke Steele, half of the Australian pop duo Empire of the Sun, will be collaborating with Jay-Z on "What We Talking About," the lead track of the much-anticipated Blueprint 3. Apparently an Empire of the Sun song was featured on Entourage, and Jay-Z wanted the chorus for his album. After some detective work, the track was sent to Steele, whose performance garnered rave reviews from Jay-Z and track producer Kanye West. Having Steele's name appear among more well-known collaborators such as Alicia Keys, Pharrell and Kanye West set the MTV bloodhounds to work, even though Steele's other band, Sleepy Jackson, has done a little work for the network.
