After taking most of 2011 off (except for the mixtape, 1.21 Gigawatts: Back To The First Time) doing whatever it is that Ludacris does with his free time, Luda told Billboard recently that he's coming back with new music in 2012. In May, he'll be releasing Ludaversal, his eighth LP, and follow-up to 2010's huge Battle of the Sexes. It's hard to believe that Luda has been around since 2000, which is impressive, since can you name a rapper not named Jay-Z that is as commercially viable now as they were in 2000?
Here's what Luda said about the album:
” Usher is one person that I’ve already worked with, and in terms of other artists, you can say that there’s going to be a lot of surprises on here.” “It’s been a minute since I’ve been away from music, and there is just so much to talk about. So [the album] is mostly about my personal life, my travels, my experiences, rumors, gossip — you know, everything coming together in one.”
