Lou Reed has officially joined Neil Young and Frank Zappa as musicians that've had spiders named after them. According to Sci-News, a newly discovered spider has been dubbed Loureedia--done so in "recognition of the fact that this velvet spider lives underground." Reed himself used to be in a little band called The Velvet Underground.
That's Loureedia pictured above. It was discovered by an international team of biologists from the U.S., Denmark, Iran, Czechia, Hungary and the Netherlands. [Spinner]
