Lost Brian Wilson production unearthed

If you're a Beach Boys/Brian Wilson admirer (and these days, from Fleet Foxes to Panda Bear, who isn't?), and you don't want to wait for the release of Wilson's forthcoming song suite Lucky Old Sun to get your fix, another option has emerged from out of left field. In 1966, Wilson recorded an album with L.A.-based poet/lyricist Stephen Kalinich, who has written songs with the Beach Boys camp as well as other '60s West Coast artists like P.F. Sloan. The album, A World of Peace Must Come, was completed in 1966 (the golden era for all things Wilson-related), but the tapes were apparently lost, and didn't surface again until 20 years later. Now, the collaboration, which features "sparse music arrangements" backing Kalinich's poetry, is finally being released. It's due September 23 on Light In The Attic.
