News of Los Campesinos! sophomore album, We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed, was quickly unleashed this summer shortly after the band finished recording, and a mere four months after their debut album, Hold On Now, Youngster… dropped. The band have finally revealed all the full details regarding We Are Beautiful, including the album art (pictured here) and revealed a bunch of extras with its release: a 30-page magazine featuring the album’s lyrics, as well as pieces written by Xiu Xiu, Menomena, Parenthetical Girls, Tender Forever, and Beautiful South, and a DVD documentary made by the band about their time at Oya and Summersonic this year. We Are Beautiful will apparently be pressed only once, and after those are gone, there will be no more to be had.
Los Campesinos! often talk about all of the different things that make up indie culture (festivals, zines, and rare albums) so it makes sense that they would go this route with We Are Beautiful.
We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed is due out on October 27 in the U.K. via Wichita, and November 11 in North America via Arts & Crafts. [Pitchfork]
