Berman Reveals Jews Clues

Look out, public: raconteur Dave Berman has announced the completion of album number six for the Silver Jews. Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea sports 10 fresh, sparkling songs recorded this year in Nashville and Lexington, Va. studios and should drop late April via Drag City. Despite song titles that smack of the Tanglewood Numbers aesthetic, along with the presence of the Joos' full touring band, Berman tells Billboard.com that the new album is "really different in that the songs have more epic settings." Here's hoping that "Aloysius, Bluegrass Drummer" breaks down into an extended "Moby Dick" drum solo.

On the other hand, notes Berman, "The music is never hard rock. Every song has a function or meaning that you could sum up in a few words." Not sure what hard rock has to do specifically with convoluted meaning, but I'm not surprised that the published poet would assert the simplicity and imply the intuitive cast of his work.

On to logistics: the Silver Jews will manifest in England and Spain for the ATP festivals in May, and express a wish to add more dates afterwards--tour number two for the seclusive Semites!
