In a not so shocking revelation, a month after rumors first started making their way around the net, the Chicago Sun Times is reporting that Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead are going to be among this year’s Lollapalooza headliners.
The Sun Times is also reporting that the recently reunited Rage Against the Machine, recent album droppers The Raconteurs, Wilco, and Kanye West will also headline on one of the main stages at the festival, taking place August 1-3 in Grant Park.
Other bands that the Times says are going to be playing are Gnarls Barkley, The Black Keys, Broken Social Scene, G. Love and the Special Sauce, Mates of State, Bloc Party, Cat Power, Stephen Malkmus (no word on if the Jicks will make an appearance), Girl Talk, Battles, the Go! Team, Jamie Lidell, Office, Grizzly Bear, Chi-Town rappers The Cool Kids and Kid Sister and…Blues Traveler (WTF?).
Couple this with Black Lips frontman Cole Alexander saying on Pitchfork this morning that his band will be playing the festival, it’s shaping up to be another great Lollapalooza.
There are still a lot of bands to be announced (the line-up usually boasts more than 100 bands), and none of this is officially confirmed until this Monday, April 7, when the official line-up is announced. One thing’s for certain: it’ll be hotter than hell and the toilet lines will be unholy, and a water bottle full of wine will run you $25.
Whaaat?
F all points west... im hitting this up for suure
