Based on a recent Q&A with Billboard, it sounds like Phair is hoping to make a return to form a la the Guyville era. Phair is currently working on material for an album to most likely be released this fall. "I have a strong vision that I can't quite articulate yet, but I'm hoping it'll be clear on the album," she says.
This album will follow the June 24 release of the 15th anniversary edition of Exile in Guyville on ATO Records. She says she's ready to "bring that moment back to life." Phair, who was dumped by Capitol after Somebody's Miracle tanked, says she's pretty excited to be back on an indie if you could call ATO that. Go here to see what Phair has to say about the Matador days, being sold to a major label, and why she doesn't like "all these sorority girls posting pictures of themselves giving blowjobs."
