With all the bile that's been spewn in recent Liz Phair interviews, kudos must be given to Amanda Petrusich at Pitchfork for providing a more gentle, feminine perspective that still doesn't lose any poignancy. In an interview at Pitchfork.tv, Phair and Petrusich discuss the personal side to Guyville that Phair rediscovered in hindsight and the differences in perspective of male aggressive, factoid-oriented appreciation of music versus women's more emotional appreciation. And unlike previous interviews, Petrusich broached the topic of Guyville's relation to the rest of Phair's major label catalog without getting into a screaming match or with obscenities flying out of Phair's mouth, (though Phair's comment that Petrusich had asked a "trick question" obviously speaks to the sensitivity of the subject matter).
