Listen To Lupe Fiasco’s “Put ‘Em Up”

Lupe Fiasco may have decided to hang up his mic after the release of Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album, but the MC/poet is firmly focused on the record for the time being. With its arrival less than a week away (six days, to be exact), a new cut from the album has surfaced online in the form of “Put ‘Em Up.”

Not quite the socially conscious “Around My Way” or the controversial “Lamborghini Angels,” this fresh track finds Lupe urging us to “put ’em high,” as he lyrically weaves in-and-out of a festering bassline and hollow drum sequence (courtesy of 1500 Or Nothin).

Part one of F&L 2 is certainly shaping up to be a diverse–not to mention incredibly promising–project. The album drops Tuesday, Sept. 25. [FSD]
