Listen To Lana Del Rey’s ‘Great Gatsby’ Track, “Young & Beautiful”

Lana Del Rey unveiled a 30-second clip of “Young & Beautiful, the first single from the forthcoming Great Gatsby soundtrack. The song was featured in the most recent trailer for the film, highlighting the conflicted romance between Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan).

“Young & Beautiful” plays to Del Rey’s strengths as a songwriter and fits nicely within the Baz Luhrmann canon of highly stylized, brutally beautiful/painful filmmaking. When she croon-sings “will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful,” it feels particularly apropos, considering the source material (F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic story of lost love is rife with Del Rey’s favorite themes: bad boys and summertime sadness, at least that’s what Cliff’s Notes told us).

Listen to a snippet of “Young & Beautiful” below. The single is expected to drop April 23. The Great Gatsby hits theaters May 10.
