Before David Lynch drops his debut as a musician next week with Crazy Clown Time, he's going the typical promotional route that so many acts are doing these days. He's made his own mixtape for a website (The Stool Pigeon) showcasing some of his favorite tunes with frequent collaborator "Big" Dean Hurley. For the most part, they stick to garage and blues rock jams from the likes of Gary Clark Jr., Sonny Boy Williamson, the Kills, and Elvis Presley. But there are some surprises in the playlist, too, such as joints by James Blake and Gnarls Barkley. We dig. You can stream the mix below. Crazy Clown Time drops Nov. 8 via PIAS, but you can hear it now here. [Pitchfork]
