Picking Adele to do the theme song for the next Bond film was certainly a no-brainer. Sure, she's arguably the most-successful artist going these days, and that certainly doesn't hurt. But her neo-soul crooning lends itself well to a Bond franchise which in recent years has looked to update the titular hero while retaining that '60s cool.
Skyfall comes out in the U.S. November 9, and the theme song itself wasn't supposed to be released until later this week, but this morning comes news that it's leaked to the web. While it's only a 90-second clip, you can hear for yourself that Adele lends herself well to the orchestral explosion. "Skyfall" was co-written and produced by Paul Epworth, who also worked with the singer on "Rolling In The Deep"--so, yeah, this thing's got credentials. Listen to the snippet below while you still can. [NME]
