Everyone is in the celebrating mood for the Rolling Stones, given the band is hitting their half-century this summer. British radio station BBC 6music has been marking the occasion by curating a series of Rolling Stones covers, and today they've revealed the Walkmen's take on the band.
The Walkmen tackle "Blue Turns To Grey," a Jagger/Richards number penned in 1965 which first appeared on their album December's Children (And Everybody's). The song was one of the first Stones originals, continuing in the same vein as ballad "As Tears Go By," but fittingly enough it's become more famous through other artists. Cliff Richard and The Shadows and The Flamin' Groovies have covered the song, and now The Walkmen add their own sparkling version. Take a listen below. [DIY]
