We reported that bigtime producer Rick Rubin was going to remix French electro-rock duo Justice, and now the track has finally found its way online. This “On’n’On” rework, slated for the Jan. 30 release of the On’n’On EP, might be the best thing we’ve heard from the project. That’s saying a lot, at least for me, because I was really feeling Erol Alkan’s remix of “Canon”. Anyway, Rubin’s take is credited as ‘Ruined By Rick Rubin,’ which is a nod to the 1991 single release of Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” a song the producer was also accused of “ruining.” Oh well, he ruins nothing of Justice’s, instead giving “On’n’On” a cool, kind of ’90s R&B bounce. In a word: stylish. Listen to it below. [Hypetrak]
