As we all know, R.E.M. decided to hang it up this past September. But as we also know, that hasn’t stopped the band from releasing new material. They have since dropped a greatest hits compilation, Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage: 1982-2011, that features old hits and some previously unreleased material. And to add to their post-break-up releases, they have issued their final holiday single for their fan club. As Consequence of Sound points out, it features live recordings of “Perfect Circle” and “Live and How to Live It” from their final tour in 2008. You can stream both at Slicing Up Eyeballs.
