On Jan. 22, Barsuk will put out album number three from the New York orchestral poppers Ra Ra Riot. Beta Love will be the first album since cellist Alexandra Lawn left the group, and it's reportedly inspired by cyberpunk novelist William Gibson and the futurist Ray Kurzweil.
You can hear both those developments on the album's title track, which the band has shared below. There aren't any overt orchestral flourishes this time around; instead, the strings have been replaced by synthesizers and a steady dance beat. It's a new look for the band, but one they're embracing wholeheartedly. Take a listen below.
