As he had been promising on Twitter for the past few days, Nas premiered his brand-new single, “The Don,” with Funkmaster Flex. Unfortunately, you know what that means: Flex bombs. The good news, though, is that this track is ridiculously great. It’s almost like a sequel to last year’s also-fucking-awesome “Nasty,” which was my personal favorite rap single of 2011. That track’s producer, Salaam Remi, had a hand in “The Don,” too, as did the late Heavy D — that reggae riddim, y’all — and Chicago’s Da Internz.
