Listen: Elliott Smith - 'Alameda' (Alternate Take)

To mark what would have been Elliott Smith's 43rd birthday (August 6), his former label Kill Rock Stars is releasing a series of rare tracks. Included is an alternate take of Smith's "Alameda" that features different lyrics than the version that ultimately showed up on 1997's Either/Or.

In addition, the label will reissue Either/Or and Smith's 1995 self-titled sophomore effort on 180-gram vinyl later this month. For the entire month of August, Smith's output for Kill Rock Stars will be specially discounted. Take a listen to the alternate take of "Alameda" below. [P4K]
