Lionel Richie Sells 20,000 Albums In One Hour On Home Shopping Network

I will never again doubt the power of people buying stuff on the Home Shopping Network (which still exists, despite Amazon): Lionel Richie was on the channel this Friday, hocking his new album, Tuskegee, and he ended up selling 20,000 copies of the album. That was enough to put him on the charts this week, even though the album isn’t even out until March 27. So, basically, Home Shopping Network is so important, it can put albums on the charts. I wonder how long it takes until some newer band buys time on the channel to sell their album. [RS
