Ramones''' former co-manager beaten to death

62 year-old Linda Stein, ex-wife of former Sire Records' (the Ramones, the Talking Heads, Madonna) president, Seymour Stein, was found beaten to death in her Fifth Avenue home on Tuesday. The cause of death was said to have been due to fatal blows to the head and neck.

Stein was a former schoolteacher who went on to co-managed the Ramones. She has been credited with indirectly kick starting the punk movement in England when she brought the Ramones across the Pond for their infamous July 4th show in 1976. [Source]
