Via: BillboardLate last week, Billboard published a news story about Courtney Love nearing the completion of her new album for Linda Perry's Custard imprint at Virgin Records. The story featured a few a quotes from both ladies, discussing the pair's aborted first attempt at a collaboration during the recording of Love's American Sweetheart, and how Perry eventually went to visit Love in rehab, and got her back on the creative path. So far so good, nice little promo PR story. Then, Perry spews this little quotable out: "Courtney Love's name should be right next to Bob Dylan when they say best lyricist of all time."
What. The. Fuck. Has Perry lost her mind? Did she have one to begin with? Has she conviniently forgotten that Love's most successful album, Live Through This, has always been shrouded in controversy, amidst accusations that Kurt actually wrote the majority of its songs? And even if Courtney does write her own stuff, how can you possibly say that it stands up to Dylan's work? So many questions...

Also, if Courtney Love is such a great lyricist... why does she need Linda Perry (a gun-for-hire pop songwriter) to co-write the album?
