Limp Bizkit And Interscope Are No More

After selling only 63,000 copies of this past June's Gold Cobra to date, Limp Bizkit has cut the cord on its relationship with Interscope Records. After exploding onto the Total Request Live scene back in 1999, the Jacksonville, FL band experienced varying degrees of commercial success and failure. One highlight of Limp's tenure with Interscope came in 2000, when Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water went platinum in a week. The band began a downturn not long after, with signature guitarist Wes Borland leaving and re-joining a number of times. Ever the frontman, Fred Durst says he is happy to finally be "independent," though the future of Limp Bizkit seems unclear. I don't really know what to say--they were signed to Interscope in '97 when Three Dollar Bill, Yall came out. Oh well, I guess, we'll see what happens from here. [AUX]
