Lily Allen Quits Twitter, Blogging and MySpace

The initial buzz about Lily Allen was mostly generated through her MySpace account, and like Frankenstein's monster turning on his creator, the singer has now dumped the service. But it doesn’t end there. Allen is also quitting Twitter, blogging, her Blackberry and even her actual computer. A period of extreme cold turkey is now underway.

 

Allen said she has become a “neo-luddite” in her final tweet, and claims to be only using a cell phone as a means of communication. Speaking about her addiction to such things, Allen said: "My boyfriend gets really angry. He's like: 'I want to spend some time with you, do we have to have one and a half million people in the room with us?' I'm like, 'Yes, shut up!'"

 

Notorious tabloid the Daily Mirror managed to track down some of Allen’s unnamed “friends” to give quotes on the issue. "We thought she was joking, but it's been a month since she last Twittered,” the gender-less person said. "It's like she's back in the 80s." The countdown to Allen’s online return begins here.
