Ten years after the Lilith Fair last left frat boys looking for alternative sources for misogynist punchlines, Sarah McLachlan's festival has begun anew. Details on dates and times are still to be determined for 2010, but we now have the first rundown of bands that will be featured.
Early names include Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, Metric, Colbie Caillat, Emmylou Harris, Sara Bareilles, the Weepies, Miranda Lambert, Indigo Girls, Ke$ha, Ingrid Michaelson, Brandi Carlile, Chantal Kreviazuk, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Tegan and Sara (who will almost certainly be the youngest band to have played at both generations of the festival).
It looks like a pretty diverse mix of talents, generations, and genres, much more so than the predominantly post-grunge/adult alternative set than the festival had in the late '90s.
