Did you just hear that? It was the gleeful squeal of Lil Wayne fans everywhere as they learned that his forthcoming album, Tha Carter IV, is finished and dropping in two months. He announced the news during the first stop on his tour with Rick Ross and Nicki Minaj. Weezy sat down with MTV's Sway and explained that the record, which is the proper follow-up to 2008's Tha Carter III, has been completed.
The only reason it's not out yet, Weezy explained, is because manager Cortez Bryant is sitting on it. The rapper then jokes that it "could come out tomorrow 'cause I'm so finished. But you know, Tez likes to sit on stuff. No homo." We previously reported that Tha Carter IV was due out in April so, hey, I think we can all deal with one extra month of waiting. Right?
Tha Carter IV is due out May 16.
