Anyone waiting patiently for the release of new Lil Wayne material may be in for a surprise. The Rebirth has been subjected to interminable delays and rescheduling, but news has emerged that the album, and the hotly anticipated Tha Carter IV, may both appear before the end of 2009.
"Tha Carter IV is out Dec. 15,” said Cash Money Records CEO Birdman to MTV. “We won't release The Rebirth as a double CD like people are saying. Both will be out before 2010. We're looking to take over the game completely, flood the market. The Grammy's are ours next year."
So, after all these delays, it now looks like Wayne may have two albums out before the end of the year. Some considerable skepticism is likely to greet such news, but Birdman seems confident in his ability to deliver. "Wayne is the best,” he said. “He just the best, there's nobody better, we make the most money and have the most hits."
