Lil Wayne's Rock Album May Not Be Released
The first single from Rebirth, “Prom Queen,” has garnered a less-than healthy average rating of 2.56 on the Prefix scale, which doesn’t exactly bode well for the finished product. The song stalled at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, a disappointment for Wayne after the soaring sales of last year’s Tha Carter III album.
This story on ContactMusic claims that Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, is advising his client not to release the album, and gives a quote from an unnamed source who says: "If Wayne doesn't brighten up, they have to turn into Mr. Evil Record Company and just tell him it's never going to be released."

thank God Rebirth might not get released. what was Wayne thinking calling that shyt rock??? it's singing over a rock beat with autotune effect. i got a question for you Wayne, how the hell is that rock??? get the hell outta here Wayne. the song shouldnt have had that much success like that considering it's a fake ass "rock" song but...at the end of the day, Wayne has too many people fooled.

y'know what? Maybe it will suck, but I'd rather Wayne release what he wants. I mean, if they say "no" then it's just gonna leak and we're all gonna hear it anyway. They could always just do a smaller than usual pressing of it. It's not that I think "Prom Queen" is great, but I think that Wayne's fearlessness and constant challenging of his own art is what has made him such a compelling figure. TO marr that because of fear of a bottom line would be a mistake, I believe.

They should release it because it's his music and he makes what he wants to, if he is proud of it then he should show what he is proud of. Maybe it will be a really good cd and we will all be surbrised but i know im buying the cd even if it does suck...

Man, all you people hating on Wayne need to get a life! You are the same kind of people that feel everybody should fit into a certain box and keep their mouths shut. I bet if it was some corny ass white dude singing the same song in some tight pants and keds you guys would be all over it. If they choose not to release the album it would be sad. You don't want to hear it, don't freakin' buy it but I think it pushes the envelope and I'm glad to see the dude step outside the box.

are you people serious??!! wayne is an artist one of the greatest!! quit hatin!! call it rock, call it r&b,call it singing over rock beats its going to be a hot album that i will surely go out and buy the day its released. wayne has so much swag he can do pretty much anything he wants and people are gonna love it including all you haters.

i think wayne is trying everything....experiment or not he's actually putting heart into his music.....sht i've been listening to him since the first hot boyz album...and the man hasn't stopped hes given us months worth of music to listen to........he's made more songs than most artist make in there life.......HE'S GRINDIN.......don't hate becuz you can't do it
