Lil Wayne's Big Money Snatches Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj’s mixtapes and tour promotions have paid off—she has signed with Lil Wayne’s Young Money label. “I am honored to have Nicki Minaj as Young Money’s First Lady,” Lil Wayne says of the rapper. “She is a star.”

Minaj has released three mixtapes including Playtime is Over, Sucker Free and Beam Me Up Scotty. This last mixtape featured such players as Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Busta Rhymes, Bobby Valentino and Drake contributing.  

"I represent every little girl in a hood near you,” Minaj says. “You've given girls all around the world the permission to change the face of female rap."

Her debut album should release in 2010—meanwhile, Minaj is performing sold-out shows with Lil Wayne on the America’s Most Wanted tour.
