Over his 15-or-so-year career, Lil Wayne has worked with just about everyone in the rap game -- Kanye West, Jay-Z, Game, Drake, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, among literally hundreds of others -- as well artists outside his traditional genre, like Usher and Madonna. However, Weezy is now also working with the much-hyped English electronic producer James Blake. On paper, the collab does seem a little unlikely, but it should be remembered that Wayne's Young Money buddy Drizzy was reportedly very much inspired by Blake during the Take Care sessions.
This news comes from a new piece in FACT in which Blake associate Trim divulges some of the details, which you can read below. No word yet on when we can expect to hear the fruits of the partnership.
“[Blake]'s just come back from America, doing tunes with Lil Wayne and stuff. It was kind of strange our relationship and how it all came about, but I’m happy to know someone like him! He’s sick at what he does, definitely. Weird music, but I’m a weird person, so I’ll always like that kind of stuff.”
