Lil Wayne Will Appear on Weezer's Raditude

Weezer’s Raditude may bear a distinctly unpromising cover photo and title, but the contents look set to be intriguing. Rivers Cuomo has been talking about the album with MTV News, where he revealed that Lil Wayne’s recent-ish fascination with rock music caused him to collaborate with the band.

"We got Lil Wayne to come in and do a rap on it," he said, without revealing which track he appears on. "Any other rapper would've just done, 'Yay, we're partying! Let's drink and have fun,' but he gave it the edge I was looking for.”

"You can hear in his voice, it sounds so dark, like he was gonna get shot or something when he walks out of the studio,” said Cuomo, who was perhaps buying into Wayne’s image a little too much. “So I was real happy that everyone involved got what we were going for."

Cuomo also talked about Jeraine Dupri’s contribution: "It was a real challenge for me, taking his ideas, which are very slick, R'n'B party, and giving it some kind of edge, some darkness, making it work with rock, making it work with Weezer.” The album, which the singer claims is Weezer’s attempt to “do something totally different,” is due for release on November 3.

no lil wayne fans are going to buy this record, and the same can be said for many of weezer's dwindling fans. it take time for a generation gap to make a band relevant again, this move by weezer is an obvious attempt by them to jump the gap, but it can't be done, never has....

weezer is the new rush.

I'm so disapointed in Weezer. They're my favorite band in the world and Lil Wayne is my least favorite artist. Seriously Weezer? V_V'

Brandon, I couldn't agree with you more. I also read something about them performing with katy Perry............Rivers-WHY??!
But having said that, I bought the album today(the more expensive deluxe version) because i really do love the band and i'm willing to give anything a chance. Don't let me down guys...Please.

So far #7 - Love is the Answer - is my favorite

Alright, quit with all the Weezer "stay faithful to your roots" sh*t. Any artist that branches out from their norm is doing so because they are evolving, which is what talented music artist do. I personally love the CD, it fully represents what Weezer has always been, the not-so-fitting-in emo lyric riddled rock band, and there the same here... You can hear it in his always un-confident esque lyrics that even though seem to always represent the "poor me" attitude, still manage to give off a totally original sound that sets them apart from everyone else. Rock on Weezer! Awsome CD.
