Lil Wayne to record rock album

Lil Wayne’s skills as a guitarist may be extremely limited, but that’s not stopping him from heading in a new rock direction. Like Ice-T before him, Wayne has got a taste for the rock, and is allegedly recording an entire album that will no doubt make Chinese Democracy sound like Simon and Garfunkel.

"Wayne's coming out with a new album, it's a rock album. A complete rock album," says Canadian rapper Drake, in an interview with MuchMusic. "I have a song on there. It’s something different in just that whole 808's and Hearbreaks, just throwing individuals off."

 

It’s unclear when (or even if) this project will surface. But hopefully Wayne will recruit a few guest players if his plan comes to fruition. The thought of Wayne jamming with the likes of Jimmy Page, Slash, or Angus Young are pretty tantalizing. Especially if the hip-hop star dons Young's classic schoolboy outfit. [MuchMusic]

lil wayne is good but I've heard some of his new songs they aren't that great but hopefully the rest will be better i like rock, but wayne's rock is horrible for now

Doesn't need to start trying rock album. This man can't even play a chord right. I'd crack up watching him try to play a neo-classical sweep pick. If he does have success it'll be someone else playing FOR him. Needs to pack up his bags and stick to synthetics and let the real musicians play. Not like when he actually fakes playing guitar. Yeah real cute...maybe for a 3 year old. And don't claim that I am "hating" either. I pity him and his ignorant fans.

Wheezy is a lyrical monster not a beat maker so i dont know what your talking about sticking with synthetics. I dont really think heading in the rock direction is a great idea but he has been on top of the hip-hop game for a while now and wants to try something different. More power to him. First i think wayne is one of the best of all time. His metaphors are crazy i love his diffrent then the other rappers style. But the problem i have is with most of the people commenting on this site. i dont know why you all gotta cuss and run you mounth and type like your hoop cause your reviewing lil wayne. thats super lame when people type hood because ut just looks like you cant spell good at all. im a horrible speller but still grow up and give a ligit review/comment. thanks everyone

Wayne is the greatest rapper of all time. He could be the next Tupac or even Notorious BIG. Let him try something different and if it works it works ad if it dont it dont. Personality i hope that it works. Dat stuff is freakin beast. I am a big rap fan but this new rock is no dobt something fresh
