After topping the Billboard and almost pushing one million units in its first week, Lil Wayne's latest opus, Tha Carter IV, continues to sales records. It's biggest feat came in the realm of digital retailers, specifically iTunes where the album pushed a total of 348,000 copies in a mere four days.
This amount tops what Kanye West and Jay-Z were able to do with Watch The Throne, which sold 290,000 copies and previously held the record. You might also remember that Jay and Kanye's album was only available on iTunes in its first week while Tha Carter IV was available on every digital retailer out there.
It's pretty impressive that Weezy was able to best his peers even though his album had far more competition in terms of sales outlets. What's even more impressive, though, is the fact he did it mostly through sales of the deluxe edition of Tha Carter IV, which was priced at $14.99. Mashable reports that the deluxe edition accounted for 95 percent of digital sales. Holy wow.
