In an interview with MTV News, Lil Wayne says production on his "rock" "album" Rebirth is finally finished, but that the album is pushed back yet again, to August 18. He's also claiming that the album is a "growth' period for him, and he wants fans to see his "growing pains":
“Expect great music. That’s all I ever want them to expect from me,” Wayne told us after the MTV Movie Awards. “I wanted to grow and show my growth as well,” he added. “It’s a difference from when you go in a room and come out and you’re better and everyone says, ‘How did you do that?’ So with this album, I wanted everyone to see my growing pains."
I'm not sure if people want to see your growing pains as an artist, since that implies that your music isn't as good as it was. But then again, if Rebirth features one song that isn't a total nightmare, that might be enough to keep fans in Wayne's corner. [NahRight]
