Lil Wayne On Jail: "I'm Looking Forward To It"

Lil Wayne’s Rebirth has finally been released, but its creator is heading the other way as he faces a possible year behind bars when he is sentenced for gun possession later this month. Wayne has a court date in New York that will determine his future, although he seems remarkably un-fazed by the whole ordeal.

"This is not something you get no advice on,” he said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “This is Lil Wayne going to jail. Nobody I can talk to can tell me what that's like. I just say I'm looking forward to it. I look at things as 'Everything is meant to be'. I know it's an experience that I need to have if God's putting me through it.”

The sentencing dates back to an incident in 2007, when Wayne was arrested for smoking marijuana in New York after a show at the Beacon Theatre. The police discovered a .40 caliber pistol the hip-hop star was carrying during the arrest. “I didn't know I was gonna be going to jail," Wayne continued. "This happened at the height of my career! Nobody knows the future."
