A judge ruled yesterday that prosecutors could play lyrics by Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie in court. Torrence “Lil Boosie” Hatch’s trial on 1st degree murder charges began Monday. It’s alleged that Hatch hired a man, Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding, 18, to kill Terry Boyd, who was shot dead in his home three years ago.
Prosecutor Dana Cummings told the judge some of Hatch’s lyrics ammounted to “admissions” of his guilt and that she planned to use the lyrics in making her case, reports The Advocate. One of Boosie’s songs, “187”, is peppered throughout with the sounds of gunfire. [RealTalkNY]
