L.A. via North Dakota folkie Tom Brosseau has just announced Cavalier, his fifth album in three years, set for an October 23 release on FatCat. This one was recorded in the UK with John Parish, best known for his collaboration with PJ Harvey from some years back. Not that we mind having another batch of Brosseau's wonderful neo-Guthrie tunes to go mooney-eyed over, but the mothering instinct in me wishes that the whispy blond buttercup Brosseau would think about his health every now and then. Because it's now clear that why he is so goddamn skinny - he makes records instead of eating. Cavalier tracklisting and tourdates after the jump.

Already? His last one just came out in January and it was fantastic and got approximately zero hype. Also, Amory is purely lovely and I'm excited for the studio version.
