Liam Gallagher Settles on Slightly Less Terrible Band Name

We’ve all been waiting with bated breath for the name of Liam Gallagher’s new band and now we have it: Beady Eye, which barely improves on the cringe-worthy Oasis 2.0 moniker that was being bandied about in previous reports.

Though Gallagher and his former Oasis chums Andy Bell and Gem Archer along with pal Chris Sharrock are recording a soundtrack based on Richard DiLello’s memoir of his time with the Beatles (what a stretch), Mojo reports that the band is currently “working on their way of looking at the world” with U2 producer Steve Lillywhite. Like the Oasis Behind the Music special, interpret this as however you may. [via Exclaim]
