Letterman Launches Record Label, Signs Pop-Punkers

David Letterman, music mogul? You heard it right. The venerable late-night talk show host and his Worldwide Pants production company are delving into the record biz, launching a new label called Clear Entertainment/C.E. Music. Considering that Letterman has consistently booked solid acts on his show and has already released a compilation of Late Show performances from the likes of R.E.M. and Lou Reed, his musical foray doesn't seem like too much of a stretch.

In fact, appears Letterman & Co. are quickly getting down to business, signing their first act, Huntington Beach, Ca. pop-punk quintet Runner Runner. While RR's self-titled debut album won't be out until late summer on C.E. in partnership with Capitol and MRV, judging by their first single "So Obvious" (below), it looks like the lads will find a comfortable home on Hot Topic shelves soon enough.
