Leonard Cohen's been active these days--he returned to performing live in 2008, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame this year, and even got royalties from the Watchmen movie because of that scene where Nite-Owl and Silk Spectre bone in slo-mo to "Hallelujah." But his well of recorded material has gone dry in recent years, which makes it a perfect time for a new album, which Cohen announced will be ready by next spring, hopefully. It'll be his first since 2004's Dear Heather and will be the first time Cohen has ever stepped into the producer's chair by himself. Asked about what the new album will sound like, Cohen replied, "Something good, I hope." We hope that as well! [Spinner]
